The national cadet corps aims to create a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities. It also provides an environment conducive for motivating the youngsters to join the armed forces. The department helps the students to actively participate in NCC to provide the best contributes to the Indian army

Sree Arumugham Polytechnic College conducts scout activities to bring the younger generation to contribute towards the development and achievement in their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals. The main objective is to contribute towards the education of young people.

NSS (National service scheme) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the government of India by the Ministry of youth affairs. It provides opportunities to the students to take part in various government-led community service programs.

NSS volunteer should put in:

Establish rapport with the people in the project area

Identify needs, problems and resources of the community.

Plan programs and carry out the plan.

Relate learning experience towards finding solutions to the problem identified.

Record the activities in the work diary systematically and assess the progress

Periodically and effect changes as and when needed.
