The Department of Information technology was started in the year 1999. Information Technology (IT) is the booming field in today's scientific world, which blends computers and communications to provide vast knowledge about recent innovations. IT drives out what has often been called "The Information Revolution." It includes matters concerned with furthering computer science and technology, design, development, installation, and implementation of information systems and applications.

OBJECTIVES

        1. To build a Technological base in Computer Engineering

        2. To expose students to System Analysis, Design, and Application oriented practices

        3. To develop students capability to anticiapt and manage technological changes in         computing domains

The department has a total of 12 faculty members. The department is actively involved in consultancy jobs for developing websites and other software for sister institutions. Faculty members attend various seminars and conferences every year. They are also involved in organizing workshops and seminars regularly.

1. Students are made to participate in different events which are conducted by other colleges. Students have won many prizes in the events they have participated.

Curriculum
The curriculum is well structured and updated to include all the aspects of Information Technology and to provide the necessary practical exposure to the students. Learning subjects like Computer Networks, Network Design Security and Management, High performance Networks along with Telecommunication Systems, Telecommunication Switching techniques, Along with these specialized subjects meant for IT, students also learn subjects like Data Structures and Algorithms, Database Management Systems, Data Mining and Warehousing, Computer System Architecture which give them insight into the core concepts of computers
Placement and training
Our college has a separate Placement and Training Cell which is active part with the department informing recent call Fars. Inspite the department conducts aptitude tests as well as group discussion and personality development programmes enriching the students for their placements.
Seminars and conference
As regular practice the department conducts National level Technical Symposium to bring the skills of students in the recent developments. Staff members and Students have presented their papers and projects in various colleges.
